Celebration of the 63rd World Day of Prayer for Vocations

  • Today, the Church is beginning a new chapter focused on promoting vocations to continue evangelization in the Latin Church of Cyprus.
  • The first Vocational Year was launched with the theme: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
  • A four-member team leads the Pastoral Care of Vocations, including two Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition.
  • The World Day of Prayer for Vocations was celebrated at Saint Nicolas Parish on April 25–26.
  • Participants included consecrated men and women, priests from several countries, and married couples.
  • The gatherings encouraged people to reflect on and deepen their understanding of vocation.
  • A second celebration took place on May 2–3 at Our Lady of Graces Parish in Larnaca.
  • Activities included Mass, Eucharistic adoration, worship, and vocation testimonies.
  • Sunday featured a “vocational village” presenting different charisms, missions, and ministries.
  • The events encouraged prayer for vocations and support for those responding to God’s call.
  • Bishop Bruno Varriano concluded the celebration with a Sending Forth Mass, highlighting the beauty and holiness of consecrated life in Cyprus.
